Industry Profile: Holmes Custom
Holmes Custom’s CEO, Bryan Croft, often refers to his Company as a 64-year-old startup. Family-owned and operated since 1954, Holmes Custom has grown into a family of 89 employees, and shows no sign of slowing down. What started out as a rubber stamp company has evolved over the years into a manufacturer of signs, name tags, and other personalized products, and while there have been many key components to the success of Holmes Custom, perhaps one of the most fundamental elements of its story has been in its innovation.
Ever since Croft bought the company from his father, Bob Croft, he’s had big dreams for the then small rubber stamp and sign company. The company’s customers were still predominantly located in Jacksonville and he knew there was a huge opportunity to service the rest of the country. So Croft spent all of his spare time learning how to launch the company’s first website,
www.holmesstamp.com. From there, the possibilities were seemingly endless.
With the addition of CFO Steve Fernandez in 2008, Croft gained a valuable business partner to help his dreams into a reality. As the years passed, the company’s leadership team grew larger and larger to help the company keep up and even surpass the industry’s standards in website experience, branding, online sales, SEO, and so much more.
While the business’ growth strategy has always remained clear in sight, Croft’s dedication to his team members and his city is his true driving force. He knows with the company’s success comes the success of his employees and his ability to help Jacksonville be a place where people can thrive.
Recently, the company made two acquisitions that are strategically located in Austin, TX and Boston, MA with plans to turn each into a fulfillment center for their Jacksonville headquarters. The future is bright for Holmes Custom, and Croft and his team of Holmies are happy to be along for the ride!
